The two-day conference organized by Ashoka University, in collaboration with IIT Kharagpur and The Australian National University, aims to discuss river island narratives, encourage conversations between researchers, and produce a special issue on river islands in a peer-reviewed journal. Session themes include decoloniality, place-making, infrastructure, disaster vulnerability, shifting identities, and island relations. Abstract submission deadline is July 25.

IEEE is a technical professional organization focused on advancing technology for humanity. The Asia Pacific Region, IEEE Region 10, includes 57 Sections, 6 Councils, 17 Sub-sections, 515 Chapters, 60 Affinity Groups, and 958 Student Branches, covering an area from South Korea to Pakistan. Gujarat Section, a sub-section of Bombay Section, was upgraded to a full-fledged section in 1990 and was recognized as the Outstanding Small Section of Region 10 in 2004, with an emphasis on quality programs for professional development.

The ICWGLS Sri Lanka - 2023, an international conference on women empowerment, gender, and literature studies, is co-organized by a group.
