The recent meeting organized by the Association of Field Ornithologists in Latin America was a great success, recognized by both attendees and the broader community. The conference highlights the importance of environmental history in understanding and addressing present and future societal issues.
For a long time, culture had been steadily growing. However, the pandemic shattered this progress as culture was not seen as essential, leaving artists without income. Can culture recover and tackle other crises like the environment?
Anna Cereseto, a Full Professor at the University of Trento, serves as Deputy Director of the Department CIBIO. She has an extensive scientific career and is currently leading a research group that has made significant advancements in genome editing technologies. Her research is supported by various organizations, including the European Community and the US and Italian Cystic Fibrosis Foundations. In addition to her academic work, she is also the chief scientific officer of a start-up called Alia Therapeutics, which focuses on genome editing treatments.
