Promoting organisational system"This course aims to educate professionals on the importance of GIS in assessing and managing disaster risk. By the end of the course, participants will understand geospatial information technology, the benefits and drawbacks of using geospatial information for risk reduction during disasters, and how to use GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS) to generate geographical information. They will also learn how to identify, search, access, collect, and assess geospatial information to reduce disaster risks, create maps using GIS software, and implement GIS in assessing and planning for disaster risk reduction. The course duration is 5 days.

The workshop aims to help attendees minimize harvester losses and optimize economic performance through practical and interactive content. Grain growers are invited to join one of the series of GRDC Harvester Workshops. Participants will hear from industry experts and local growers about harvest weed seed control, harvester fire prevention, measurement and management of harvest losses, and harvest storage. The workshop, hosted in SA by Mid-North High Rainfall Zone, will bring together harvester specialists, industry experts, and researchers to discuss grain losses prevention, efficiency improvements, harvest weed seed control methods, fire prevention, and harvester technology calibration. GRDC acknowledges and respects the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia.
The workshop will include discussions on soil health and fertility, overseeding warm season perennial pasture with cool season annuals, farm safety, and a demonstration on sprayer calibration.
