Record number of visitors - 100 000 March 25, 2010 BVV Press Center - The complex of agricultural and forestry fairs was of an extraordinary interest for the general public. Within the first four days, the fairs were attended by 95 000 visitors. Based on a survey, most of them were interested in the trefoil of the TECHAGRO, ANIMAL VETEX, SILVA REGINA Fairs and the World Exhibition of Hunting Development, 6 % came to the International Exhibition of Fishing Tackle FISHING. The number of visitors to the agricultural fairs will probably surpass on Thursday, for the first time in the history, 100 000 (in 2008 the number of visitors was 93 000, two years earlier 78 000). The Brno agricultural, breeding and forestry show belongs to the largest of its nature in Europe. This year's run occupied the whole Exhibition Centre incl. open spaces on which heavy machinery was displayed, practical shows of biomass processing and also attractive accompanying program took place. The TECHAGRO, ANIMAL VETEX and SILVA REGINA Fairs and the World Exhibition of Hunting Development were attended by 713 participating firms from 21 countries, for the first time also from Argentine, Croatia and Romania. The occupied exhibition space exceeded 64 000 m2, similarly to two years ago. In spite of a difficult economic situation, a number of firms did not only present their products, but also concluded contracts directly in the place. In addition to Czech farmers and foresters, exhibitors also discussed with foreign customers who came to Brno from 36 countries (4 000). Organized excursions of professionals arrived e.g. from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, Ukraine, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary or Austria. Visitors positively appraised the high number of novelties. Almost every bigger firm presented in Brno innovated machines or technologies. For the competitions of the best exhibits, exhibitors entered a record number of 76 novelties, twelve of them were awarded Grand Prix and another three were granted extraordinary recognitions by the international Jury of Assessment.
